Alpiq strengthens presence in Romania
Aare-Tessin, the electricity subsidiary of Swiss energy trading company Alpiq Holding, has acquired Romanian energy provider EHOL Distribution for an undisclosed fee.
According to Alpiq, the takeover has positioned the company as one of the top three end-customer providers in Romania and has further expanded its position in Central and Eastern Europe's electricity markets.
Alpiq bought Romanian power company Buzmann Industries in 2007.
