For Esma the supervisor, people power will be prime

Industry hopes to avoid people risk during transition, with help from national authorities

European Union legislators are debating proposals to hand greater supervisory responsibilities to its markets watchdog – the European Securities and Markets Authority – which could see its headcount more than double to meet the task. But there are concerns over how Esma will gather the requisite number of people with the appropriate expertise.
