Swedish regulator to conduct qualitative survey on Solvency II to support Orsa development

Survey to begin in second half of the year amid concern over progress of smaller insurers

The Swedish financial regulator, Finansinspektionen (FI), is to examine insurers’ readiness for Solvency II in a survey to be conducted later this year.

The survey will focus on the qualitative aspects of the new regime as insurers begin drafting their Own Risk and Solvency Assesments (Orsa).

“[The survey] is about examining how well the companies are preparing – the preparedness of their board of directors and how they have allocated resources for the implementation of Solvency II,” says Bertil
