Old hand grabs top spot

Icap has emerged as the top broker in Asia Risk's interdealer survey, after a period of destabilising staff movements, competition from newcomers and profit-sapping calm in the forex markets. By Kathleen Kearney

Icap, Tullett Prebon and BGC Partners have emerged as the top three brokers in Asia Risk's interbank survey for 2006. Icap took 91 first places out of the 135 product categories this year, twice the 46 top spots won by Tullett Prebon, its closest rival, which came top overall in 2005. Icap's strongest showing was in interest rate derivatives, where the firm grabbed first places in 25 separate product categories.
