S&P grows its thematic series with new Global Eco index

S&P has launched a new investable index, the S&P Global Eco index, which is designed to offer exposure to environmentally responsible investment strategies.

The index, which is the eighth in the S&P Global Thematic Index Series, comprises 30 publicly listed companies operating in ecology-related industries, including clean energy production, water utilities, timber, environmental services and waste management.

The index has an adjusted market capitalisation of US$387.87 billion and covers 12 countries including Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, the UK and the US. Companies eligible for inclusion
